Lockdown Drama

cEwMDRW

It’s been two years since I’ve updated this blog, real life have gotten so busy that I have no time to blog. Anyway, due to COVID-19, I was forced not only to work from home, but I also have extra time to watch dramas and blog. I have lots of drama backlog, most of which are past seasons, but I’ll try my best to keep up and hopefully, I’ll be able to make the most of this lockdown by doing what I’ve really missed- blogging!

Stay safe! Stay at home.

Dramas I’m Watching Spring 2018

I never thought that I’ll be able to update this blog again, work had been extremely busy since October last year and because of that, I decided to reward myself with a 1 week vacay from all those accumulated stress. Initially, I was planning to travel, but due to schedule conflicts with my friends, I ended at home for my vacation so I decided to spend this week binge-watching.

Enough of that, “Hana Nochi Hare” is probably one of highly anticipated dramas this season, my curiosity was piqued after those screenshots of MatsuJun aka Domyouji rocking it for his cameo. So yeah, I’m a simple woman, I see a glimpse of Domyouji, I watch it. As for that, here’s what I’m watching (and hopefully I’ll be able to finish them) this Spring 2018.

Just Reviews : Kahogo no Kahoko

I decided to watch this drama out of curiosity on Takahata Mitsuki, she’s a rising young actress in Japan and rumored girlfriend of Sakaguchi Kentaro. But more than that, the storyline got me hooked because it’s now rare in J-dorama world to actually have a love story.

So, here’s a summary of Kahogo no Kahoko

[may contain spoilers]

Just Reviews : Totsuzen Desu Ga Ashita Kekkon Shimasu

Totsuzen desu ga ashita kekkon shimasu” is another drama this season tackling the issue of women in the marriage mart. I love Nishuichi Mariya so this review can be pretty biased so I’ll limit my review to plot and characters. However, since this is also flumpool vocalist’s Yamamura Ryuta first foray into the acting scene, I think it’s only given that I comment on his acting as well.

Anyway, here is a summary of Totsuzen desu ga ashita kekkon shimasu : Episode 12

First Impressions on Tokyo Tarareba Musume : Episode 1

I was gonna compare “Tokyo Tarareba Musume” to summer season’s “Hayako-sensei…” because it features different women in the marriage mart. However, Tokyo Tarareba is a bit different because the girls were pretty comfortable with their single status, happy with just an all-girls’ night-out until one blonde ikemen reminded them that they are no longer girls and their “what if” (tarareba) stories no longer fits them.

Here is a quick recap of Tokyo Tarareba Musume : Episode 1

Dramas I’m Watching Winter 2017

The start of 2017 has been very busy for me, which I think is a good thing because work means money, but it also means that I have less time to watch dramas. In fact, up until when I started writing this post, I only know three Winter dramas and that’s A LIFE, Quartet, and Totsuzen desu ga. Thankfully for jadefrost, who does an amazing job of compiling and summarizing each dramas per season, I got to read every existing dramas for Winter and decide from there.

Anyway, here are some dramas I’ve checked this season that moved me (if I’m actually moved).

Jimi ni Sugoi : Episode 10 (Final)

We have reached the final episode and I’m so glad that I was able to finish this recap when I only started this out of a whim. Nevertheless, Jimi ni Sugoi‘s ending isn’t what I’ve expected, but if there’s one thing I learned from this drama is how we are sometimes led to a different path than the one we’ve always wanted.

Jimi ni Sugoi : Episode 8-9

After two pretty uneventful episodes, finally I’m seeing light! It’s not just some development between Etsuko and Orihara, but Etsuko is finally closer to her Lassy dream after hitting a rough patch in her career.

Here is a quick recap of Jimi ni Sugoi : Episode 8-9

Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu: Episode 6-7

If cigarettes is a gateway drug then a hug is a gateway to more intimacy. Tsuzaki and Mikuri haven’t even held hands yet but the every Tuesday hug proves to be a pre-cursor to better days ahead. However, Tsuzaki’s immaturity in relationship and Mikuri’s assertiveness can either be a hindrance or a help for them to make their relationship work.

Jimi ni Sugoi : Episode 7

[Sorry for the delay of JNS recap, it’s the holiday season and I’m pretty busy with parties and gift shopping so I haven’t been watching dramas, but I’ll try my hardest to finish this recap by New Year.]

After Orihara’s out-of-the blue confession and Etsuko’s mutual feelings for Orihara, it seems natural that our two leads will date. However, not everything is posed to go smoothly as Etsuko will learn that Orihara has another identity that she has to know.
