About

Dorama Doll is dedicated to make first impressions, recaps, and reviews of some currently-airing Japanese dramas that the I like.

Anyway, I started this blog out of jealousy from Korean drama fans. I also watch Korean dramas now and then and I’m jealous of the abundance of recap and review sites for those dramas. I also found those sites (Dramabeans in particular) to be really helpful when the episodes get draggy and I just want to see how the dramas ends. There are even times when I no longer watch the drama and just content myself to reading recaps because I don’t have that much leisure time.

So, I decided to start this blog because I want to spread to love of Japanese dramas and as “Daruma Dollis known to grant wishes, I just wish to be able to reach-out to more Japanese drama fans out there.

  1. Drama Beans has certainly paved the way for insightful drama blogs and yes though there have been more jdrama blogs popping up there isn’t nearly enough! Enjoying your blog so far, keep going! 🙂

  2. Thank you for sharing this blog. I watch both Korean and Japanese dramas. I find that Japanese dramas does not drag and they have more variety in their stories. I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful blog. Good luck and keep up the good work.

  3. Words cannot describe how unbelievably GRATEFUL that you started this blog. I’ve needed a jdrama equivalent to Dramabeans because there’s not enough information out there about jdramas in general, much less currently airing ones! I used to find my jdrama news from forums, but when I came back to watching dramas after a few years out of the game, I had no idea where to look! Even the big name drama streaming sites only have a fraction of jdramas compared to their heaps and heaps of kdramas. And it’s such a pity because jdramas are just as good as kdramas (and sometimes even better). I just found this blog but needless to say, I’m finally starting my jdrama binge after a long, long time.

  4. Thank you Lauren for such a nice comment! I’m not as good (as a writer) and extensive as Dramabeans but I really hope to reach out to lots of Jdrama fans. I really wish I had more time to spare to watch dramas and share them to reach wider audience since Jdramas tackles more issues and so.
